I am currently only accepting certain clients for my waitlist. I do have spots available for my Parenting Classes. I specialize in helping children, teens, and adults manage and decrease their anxiety. While anxiety can be a part of daily life, at times it becomes debilitating or distressing. I work with my clients to find a way to balance daily stress while still finding enjoyment in life. I utilize evidence-based practices that are based on science and measurable goals. I like my clients to feel involved in the process of choosing goals and measuring their own progress and successes. Typical diagnoses that I work with include Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Panic Disorder, Social Phobia, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, Separation Anxiety, or specific phobias. A large percentage of my practice is focused of treatment of OCD. I utilize Exposure with Response Prevention as a treatment for OCD. Finally, I run Parenting Classes focusing on helping parents of anxious children. These workshops help parents to provide support for their children but to not feel sucked in to "giving in" too much to anxiety. We discuss the fine line between providing support but also instilling encouragement. Each parent will work on individual goals in the class.

Specializing in child/teen therapy. Specializing in attachment concerns, suicidal ideation, self-harm, relational issues and more... I treat the whole child/teen by providing our youth in the greater community with a space to explore, process and express their own emotional experiences through play, art and talk therapies. Therapy has proven to help kids improve self-esteem, identify their strengths, lean into their growing edges, learn perspective, process trauma, develop healthy coping strategies and find and maintain healthy relationships. While I work with all child/teen age groups I do specialize in Middle School aged kiddos. It is a time of transformation and developmental milestones that tend to require extra support.

I began my journey as a therapist first by seeking work as a teacher. I graduated from Oregon State University with a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Sciences in 2013, which led me to work as a preschool teacher until 2017. Working with families in this capacity made me see just how much need there is for therapists who work from a systemic perspective. It was this that compelled me to enroll at Capella University, from which I earned a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2022 I became an LMFTA because families and relationships of all structures are valid and able to bring joy and fulfillment. My goal as a therapist is to work with my clients to discover and utilize the unique strengths of their family and use them to come closer to their ideal dynamic. I do this drawing primarily from narrative, solution-focused, and DBT. As someone who has also served sex and gender minority communities for over a decade, I have a passion for this population in particular. This includes the LGBTQ+, polyamorous, kink, and sex worker communities. I served as a board member for the Human Dignity Coalition for several years and am currently in the process of earning my AASECT certification

Do your past experiences, relationships, or losses have you feeling stuck, anxious, or overwhelmed? Perhaps you find yourself unable to shake certain memories or move smoothly through difficult emotions. Many people cope by numbing out, disconnecting from themselves and others in their lives through substances, screens, or something else. Are you struggling to connect with loved ones in authentic and meaningful ways? Are you straying from your true north, struggling with self-esteem, communication, or behavioral challenges? Does your family feel like a place of harmony and strength, or like a minefield of insults or silence? Our work will transcend traditional talk therapy. You will experience body-based trauma-sensitive modalities such as focused mindfulness, Brainspotting, therapeutic art projects, intentional compassion, and wilderness-based counseling sessions. Sometimes it seems like the world asks us to hold everything together and carry all of our burdens by ourselves. You don't have to do this alone. In fact, research supports that healing and growing are most effective when they are done in the context of relationship. Call or email me now & set yourself on the path toward your integrated and authentic self.

Struggling with relationships, disturbing emotions, traumatic pasts, despair, addictions, utter confusion, all of this has meaning and the potential to propel us toward a better life. My job is to help people understand the process of what's happening and provide tools, skills and insights to navigate not just this situation, but future ones as well. So often people focus on symptoms instead of causes. Sometimes it's about managing symptoms, but more often there awaits an opportunity to get to the root and grow through and beyond this obstacle, to be more aware, capable and resilient than ever before. I have come to know that we learn as much or more by experience than by conversation. Our deepest learning is when we know something in our heads, our hearts, and at a gut-level. Otherwise, an idea by itself often doesn't bring about real change and lasting peace. I use a variety of experiential methods to explore, heal and deeply transform what's happening. That said, I begin by getting your goals and I honor the direction and scope of work that we set together. It is a safe and respectful path that enables us to go far.

Bereavement, suicide loss, loss of a pet, life transitions, difficulties in relationship to others and to self are some of the reasons people seek counseling. My goal as a therapist is to provide a safe place for clients to work through problems, discover their strengths, and find hope for healing and change. It takes courage to reach out and seek support when you recognize that what you are doing on your own doesn't seem to be working. My hope is that you will start your journey to healing. I work from a systems perspective. Whether the client is an individual, couple, or family, it is important to consider the influence of family of origin as well as the current family configuration. Attachment needs are explored and addressed, as differing needs in relationships can be a source of conflict. During bereavement, family relationships may become strained due to the unique ways that various family members grieve. In my practice, I provide psychoeducation about the grieving process, and provide support during this tender time.

Accepting NEW Clients (ages 18-65) as of 1/3/23 for Tele-Psychiatry (medication treatment only, not therapy). Appointments are available in 2 weeks. Complete the Patient Inquiry Form on my website. You will receive a response the same or next day. My practice is primarily composed of adults struggling with anxiety and depression. I find that people reach out to treatment when excessive worry, low motivation, and negative thinking can lead to feeling less confident in their work, behind on tasks at home, and impacting their relationships. I don't treat ADHD and I don't prescribe controlled substances, such as Xanax for anxiety. I have successfully helped people reduce anxiety and depression that has only partially been helped through therapy by adding psychiatric medication that is targeted to treat worry, panic, OCD, depression and bipolar symptoms. I have advanced training in using research-based medication approaches to make a specific plan for your particular symptoms. If you want to know more about the medications you are taking or are uncertain if medication is right for you, I will help you understand your options. Please visit my website and complete the Patient Inquiry Form. Responses in 1-2 days. Please include your insurance name and member ID so we can do a benefits check for you. We don't take Medicare or OHP.

As a person and as a counselor my focus is on developing relationships that foster wholeness. I am not interested in diagnosing and treating symptoms. I help clients who are interested in going deeper into their humanity and discovering the richness that can be found in seeking wholeness. I work with youth, adults, and couples who are experiencing existential, spiritual, and/or relational problems. Shame, guilt, and fear are ways in which we are limited. When we come up against these limits we often begin to show signs of "mental illness". Unable to cope with the incongruity between the standards of society, family, or religion we and our relationships inevitably break down. I can only help others on their journey to the degree I have journeyed myself. Thus, I am committed to pursuing my own development. This is not only for my benefit but for those who journey into painful and unknown places where an experienced guide can offer understanding, and hope.

Welcome! I'm so glad you're here. I provide professional mental health counseling services for adolescents and adults. I approach counseling as a joint relationship in which you and I collaborate together in a supportive, safe environment. My belief is that all clients have unique insight and ability to improve their own lives but may need help identifying strengths and developing skills that support healing, healthy decision making, relationships and steps towards positive growth. I personally operate from a Christian worldview and am willing to incorporate this into our counseling. My work as a counselor started in college counseling centers, working with students during the complex transition from adolescence to young adulthood. I've worked at a rehabilitation hospital administering psychological testing to children and adults. Since then, I've expanded my professional scope to include women's trauma and abuse recovery, EMDR and ACT. Seeking counseling is often a difficult decision and requires courage and commitment! I look forward to meeting you and hearing more about your personal journey. Send me a message or call me! I will respond as soon as possible.

I've been helping people with the "hard stuff" for a long time. I decided to work in the field of domestic violence in 1998 by way of intervention programs for both men and women who were convicted of an assault or who self identified as wanting to end their use of abuse with their loved ones. I opened my own business in 2000 specializing in anger management, domestic violence, parent education for children and teens, co-parenting education, and a program for parents who were convicted of abuse or neglect. I became a mediator in 2014 and I have conducted thousands of child custody, parenting plan, and family conflict mediations. I've learned that a family systems approach can be critical in assisting families to become more functional so everyone can get their needs met and thrive. By increasing stability, safety, and security both individually and in the entire system, people are better able to deal with life challenges and major life transitions, as allies not adversaries. Life can be so very hard. I've put together a menu of services intended to help you improve your current situation and prevent future problems. You don't have to do it alone. I offer counseling, coaching, parent education, anger management, facilitation, parenting plan mediation, and parent coordination. I look forward to meeting you. www.coexistus.com

Please visit my website for more information. I take pride in feedback from my clients who report that they feel extremely safe and comfortable with me in therapy but simultaneously challenged by seeing things from a new perspective. I feel that it is vital that a client can share anything and everything without fearing embarrassment or judgement so that we can confront and overcome the barriers that are holding you back and keeping you stuck. I connect well with clients who have faced a lot of challenges in life and have trouble sharing or feel different than others. I also love working with couples and helping them reconnect. We can discuss the different therapies and treatments and decide together what we'll address as we go. Some choose to just get back to their baseline function in the face of stress while others want to finally face buried trauma. In couples work, we'll discover why you and your partner seem to fall into the same traps and find new solutions to avoid them. I truly believe therapy helps and I love helping others get to a healthier place in life. I offer in-person therapy in Bend, OR and telehealth options all throughout Oregon. I am currently seeing clients Wednesdays through Fridays. It's stressful to take a leap into therapy, but feel free to call me and we'll discuss anything that helps you decide.

Please visit my business website: www.wolfordcounseling.com I am both a Licensed Professional Counselor(#C2212)and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (#T0637) in the State of Oregon. I am often called 'down to earth' and 'realistic' by my current and past clients. this is my approach to therapy with Individuals, couples, families and youth. I concentrate on creating new, achievable goals with my clients. Communication and trust are at the heart of healthier relationships with oneself and with others and I have been effective in helping my clients find new levels of happiness and respect. I concentrate on asking questions that help my clients look for strengths within their lives when they often can only see the problems plaguing them. When identified, these small, but not insignificant successes can be built upon to create larger more powerful positive interaction. I find it important to look at mind/ body connection with my clients. It is crucial to consider diet and exercise as well as mental health in the overall treatment and change process.
